Reliable, Thorough, and InformativeJuly 28, 2010 mk(california) The Mayo Clinic book on pregnancy is AMAZING. It is so accurate and timely in describing the symptoms, even the very subtle ones I might overlook, that it is as if someone is checking my condition personally! And the great thing about it is that unlike most other books that may just TELL you all the various symptoms there might be, this book actually explains WHY they are happening so I understand the logic behind it. Really, it makes me marvel at how fascinatingly our human bodies are designed! Everything is very clearly explained and answers even questions that my doctor (who has Harvard, etc. credentials and all) couldn't answer too well. I would highly recommend the book if anyone wants a reliable, thorough, and informative book on everything about healthy pregnancy!
Best Pregnancy BookJuly 25, 2010 Jennifer Tarr Coyne(New York, NY United States) This was by far and away the best pregnancy book. It's not cheesy and it doesn't have crazy pictures. It has a great index and answered every question I had, often better than my doctor did. It's a must-have for you and your friends during pregnancy.
GreatJuly 24, 2010 Casey Lots of information, but not as encouraging as it gives a lot of facts and info about complication and issues that you can run into. Doesn't discuss emotions or feelings that might be experienced to normalize individual experiences. Gives plenty of info on physical experiences and baby issues associated with pregnancy.
Excellent for over 35 pregnancyJuly 12, 2010 E. M. Young(Malden, MA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was a great book for me. Well written, easy to understand and unlike the "What to Expect" books didn't scare me to death during my first trimester. Nice charts on when to call the doctor, information on types of testing. This is for someone looking for straight forward information.

I am a Registered Nurse and I bought this book for my daughter-in-law for her first pregnancy because it is well-organized, thorough and a wealth of information for the expectant mother. My dtr-n-law called me several times telling me how much help and reassurance this book was.
