Product Description The Fat Flush Plan will show you how to shed unwanted pounds while actually improving your health, thus building a bridge between beauty and vitality. The Fat Flush Plan's unique, groundbreaking program targets cleansing the liver-the largest, most versatile organ in the body-and the one most essential to maintaining optimal body weight.
Amazon.com Review The keys to overweight are liver toxicity, waterlogged tissues, fear of eating fat, excess insulin, and stress, asserts nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman. Her Fat Flush Plan addresses these problems with a targeted diet.
The Fat Flush Plan, filled with nutritional analysis and detailed explanations, is not a quick read. Despite Gittleman's assertion that the plan is "as easy as 1-2-3," it is quite regimented. No white flour, white sugar, margarine, vegetable shortening, artificial sweeteners, or caffeine. The diet emphasizes essential oils (e.g., flaxseed and GLA), protein (eight ounces or more, plus two eggs a day), vegetables, thermogenic spices (e.g., ginger and cayenne), water, and diuretic beverages (eight glasses/day of diluted, unsweetened cranberry juice). In its first two-week phase, the plan is a rigid, low calorie (1,100-1,200 calories/day), low-carb (no grains or starchy vegetables) diet. Phase two lets you increase your calories to 1,500 and add two "friendly carbs." Phase three, the "lifestyle program," moderately adds more dairy, carbs, and calories. Gittleman promotes walking and recommends strength training in phase three.
The book includes 41 recipes such as Grilled Lamb Chops with Cinnamon and Coriander, Breakfast Egg Fu Yung, and Cumin Sautéed Scallops. The Fat Flush Plan is recommended for dieters willing to commit to a strict plan for weight loss. --Joan Price
A different way to look at things...July 28, 2010 R. Killian(California) I read the book and listened to the cd's to make sure I didn't miss anything---sometimes I read too fast and miss things. I thought the info was pretty good, and easy to understand. Since I just finished reading/listening, I haven't started the plan yet, but I intend to in a few weeks when the kids go back to school. I like the whole idea of a "detox" and also paying attention to the liver and lymph system. The eating plan is nothing groundbreaking---mostly common sense and stuff you've seen before, but it is nice to have a plan to follow. I'm a 'lists' and 'schedules' person. Also, the extra info about the Long Life Cocktail and the herbs, and Omega-3's, and rebounding was all great I thought. I love learning new things about our amazing bodies. We'll see when I actually begin the plan---would like to drop 20 pounds. Might update later, but so far, I give it a thumbs-up. Another good nutrition book I'm reading is The Core Balance Diet, fyi.
This is a Simple and Brilliant ProgramJune 30, 2010 Donna Lang(Atlanta, Georgia) This is a simple and brilliant program. I am excited to say it works. The good news is that I still own the book and I'm eager to incorporate it in my life again.. Although I have been a tad off track, I'm encouraged because it is so easy to get back on track with this program. Thanks Ann for all that you do!
To the Point!!!June 13, 2010 Josie G(USA) water weight, fat weight... down the toilet!! this book is easy to follow and very well thought out. As a matter of fact, if you follow the basic principles you'll still lose weight. I hate a lot pill supplements so i didn't even try them. I also didnt lower the salt as much as suggested but i did significantly. Several pound lost in a week. It may be junk science to some but when the scale moves, I'm a believer! :)
reviewing a used book orderJune 7, 2010 Elaine N. Frankowski 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The book was advertised as "like new." Except for one page, it was "like new." I could white out the writing on the one page that had writing. The writing on that one page was easy to overlook in examining the entire book. I believe the merchant honestly thought the book had no marks in it. The few marks I found on a single page does not put me off this merchant. As for the contents of the book, we'll see how effective they are in the next few months.
A good life planMay 27, 2010 Joan Dix I am enjoying her research results and health information very much. Something that I definitely needed. Both my husband and myself are starting day 3 of the two week protocol. She has a very nice way of giving important information and facts.
