Not necessary unless multiple units are controlled via IR July 22, 2010 Laughin Bones (Wayne NJ) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought this cable, expecting to control three devices (Directv receiver, home theater, DVD player) with the Next Generation Remote Control Extender (which works great). This cable is not necessary if you end up connecting just one unit.
3-Eye Infrared July 13, 2010 Daniel A. Barone I can control my stereo DVD player Cable Box all through the wall. I love it. Thanks
Next Generation 3-EYE Infrared Remote Control Extender Emitter Cable April 19, 2010 Dale Buechler Pretty happy with this. I have my home entertainment center playing a lot and if the phone rings I can mute it easily from anywhere in the house. If I don't like what playing, I can change what's on from anywhere.
Works as advertised March 26, 2010 Jerry Schenkel (SC - USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had the "closed door" remote system working within 5 minutes for both the DVD/sound system and the DVR/Cable boxes. I purchased the cable that splits the IR three ways from one receiver (3-EYE Infrared Remote Control Extender Emitter Cable), the "Next Generation Remote Control Extender" along with an extra rf transmitter that fits into the remotes. This was necessary as I use two remotes which controls two different boxes under the cabinets behind the closed doors. The entire system setup works perfectly.
