As the action begins players have their pick of four distinct character classes, and weapons, gadgets and specializations. Within these, players have over 15,000 kit variations to discover, and will be able to fine-tune their preferred fighting style to give them the edge in combat that they will need to survive and prevail. In addition, new vehicles like the all terrain vehicle (ATV) and the UH-60 transport helicopter allow for new tactics, which players are free to choose from. As players fight through mission play they will level up their playable character through the ranks as they accumulate experience points in combat for enemies eliminated and objectives completed. Excellence in the battlefield is rewarded with an extensive range of pins, insignias and stars to unlock along with 50 dedicated ranks to achieve. Battlefield 2 also features a major multiplayer component. Along with standard 24-player online multiplayer options across eight maps, players can also compete in 4-player teams in 2 exclusive squad-only game modes, fighting together to unlock exclusive team awards and achievements. During these online battles players can spawn on your squad to get straight into the action, and use gadgets such as the tracer dart in-conjunction with the RPG to devastating effect. Taken together these features make for one of the most realistic ground/vehicle combat experiences ever.
The New Frostbite Engine Tactical destruction in Bad Company 2 is taken to new heights with the updated DICE 'Frostbite' engine. Unlike in the first game in the series, which featured considerable, but limited destructible game environments, in Battlefield Bad Company 2 players can now take down entire buildings or create their own vantage points by blasting holes through cover, thereby delivering a unique dynamic experience in every match.

Anybody want to buy my copy?July 22, 2010 Peter Yocom(Cheney, WA United States) My computer is good and my internet access is more than adequate. This game took forever to load and it took forever to download the latest version. It wouldn't work. None of EA's suggestions worked. I'm selling it.
battlefield bad company 2July 21, 2010 G. FINCH(RIVERSIDE, CA, US) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
the game was in good condition and loaded well. It was a used game and i knew that. the problem is the former owner of the game made a bootleg copy and is currently using it on the internet. So I cant use the game for internet play. This is the last used game I ever buy
Great game, with a few multiplayer quirksJuly 18, 2010 Helpme(Santa Rosa, CA) First off, this game is great! It's in the same class as BF2 and 1942 (we'll just forget about 2142 and vietnam), but is just missing the airplanes. The classes are a bit different, and have some strange quirks (who thought giving the grenade launcher and ammo bags to the same class was a good idea?). The destroyable buildings are fun, and add another dimension to the game.
The multiplayer game modes are great, but the squad deathmatch could probably use a bit better map design.
This wouldn't be a true EA game without some strange server browser bugs. They have fixed most of them, but a few still remain. The most annoying is that some of the filters don't work. A good example is the "hardcore" filter, which seems to only filter servers that have team damage enabled, but aren't actually "hardcore".
It's also not uncommon to find a team full of snipers, when that side is supposed to be attacking... but so it goes.
In any case, this is a great game for any battlefield multiplayer fan. It plays good with a group of 4 players, but is still fun alone.
waste of moneyJuly 17, 2010 eBay Lover(California) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game has potential but the servers are riddled with cheaters and aimbots. It could be fun if they found a way to make it fair and level, but until then I'd stay away.
The game is great! Only one whine...July 15, 2010 A. Bubnick(Maple Valley, WA USA) The game is great. It's engaging, fast paced, and the sound continues to amaze me. The only whine that I have is not about the game, it is about the veteran status (owning past Battlefield games). While it is only a prestige thing to have veteran status next to your in game name, I have attempted to add my 4 other Battlefield games to my profile many different times and it never sticks.
Back to the game... the new way of squads being able to spawn on ANYONE in the squad brings a new element of fun to the game. Rarely do you have to spend time hoofing it back to the front line.
