Amazing product from Amazon Kindle DXJuly 27, 2010 Javisan60(FL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The new Graphite DX is amazing, really, it works as promised, it is a new experience when:
Reading: You will read a lot faster with this really nice screen your eyes will not get tired.
Buying books: Really nice and easy, no computer needed, 3g connectivity is more than enough for the size of the books.
Weight: As promised, light enough.
Connectivity: FREE 3G, works, just turn on and go..!, no set-ups, no contracts, just turn on and navigate in websites that uses basic HTML and Mobil websites, the only problem is that it was not empathized enough or my mind does not has understand the magnitude of the offer, after I have seen a friend fighting for his 3g connection with an Ipad....
Navigate between books: Easy to order in collections, easy to delete, easy to go to a new book, clean order of all the books.
It is a superior buy!

i owned dx kindle wirless but i founf that that an arabic language support is missing which mean that amazon when done menifacuring expected to read all book in english.secondly pdf books imported to this digital book is awful looking you can not read properly ,when zooming you loose the lines and the quality of the fonts.in comparison to ipad it is far less in qulaity unless you put prices as deciding factor when buying.

I'm not going to comment on kindle content or prices as other readers do here, I'd like to focus on the device.
Let me first say I really love the new display and the battery time, I love having my newspaper delivered wirelessly anywhere in the world and I also like the navigation in kindle optimized content. But I have to say the PDF support is broken, the DX crashes often on complex pdfs (like print magazines in pdf form, german "Spiegel" for example), the screen freezes and I have to reboot the device. Maybe amazon can fix this in future firmware versions.

Bought this for my wife because she has difficulty reading books. The feature to enlarge the font is what sold me on it. She loves it. It is good to see her able to read again.
Best Device For ReadingJuly 27, 2010 CSK(London) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Firstly, I will set out my previous woes with other ereaders I have tried in the last couple of years. It will set the contrast to my experience with Kindle DX Graphite. I have tried 1st edition Sony ereader, Irex Iliad Book Edition, Irex A4 Dr Edition and more recently bought the iPad, with the primary purpose of reading.
Sony PRS 505 Edition Ereader (costed 250 pounds at the time): I wasn't happy with the size, and speed of the device and eventually gave it away to a friend. PDF reflow was very impressive though. Including access to table of contents and bookmarks. Sturdy built too.
Then I tried the Iliad Book Edition (costed 450 pounds at the time). It was quite light and the screen size was larger, but text was not black enough against a rather pale screen. Again, managed to sell it on ebay for half the price.
Then tried the Irex A4 size DR800 (bought it for 500 pounds then): Quite heavy, and again the text was not black enough to read comfortably. Had to sell it on ebay, for considerable loss again.
My hopes were next set quite high on iPad. Quite an impressive device, but unfortunately didn't find it comfortable for reading. Combination of glare and brightness do not make comfortable reading. Colour feature is a plus, but doesn't translate into comfort. Am going to still keep it; useful for other features than reading.
Finally, when I had given up all hope on ereaders, wanted to give Kindle Graphite DX a last try. Had it for a week. I will not got into detail about all the pluses and minuses as there are plenty of other fairly comprehensive reviews. Been very impressed with the device. The text is quite black. Had done more reading on it, comfortably without any strain than all the device above. Although not completely perfect device (poor folder structure, no pdf reflow, no table of contents feature, no separate numeric keys, no pages jump feature), it is a class apart than all the other devices above, when it comes to comfortable reading (reasonable weight, fairly comfortably placed controls, actual text itself is as good as a real book for me). Thank you Amazon!
