When I receive the rebate, this model Tom Tom will have cost $90. For that price I couldn't turn it down. I knew going in it wouldn't call out the street names and do some of the other nice things the more expensive models do. But it is accurate and has saved me time and gas. This is a nice unit for the price.

I bought this for a road trip into Canada where we were loaned a car that didn't already have a navigation system and found it very portable, easy to use, and got the job done. The price was give away with a rebate to boot, and although it was listed as refurbished, there was no sign that it wasn't brand new. Now we will also have something to use in my wife's car that doesn't have a built in navigation. It was fun to customize the GPS as well with a vehicle that looked like our car in place of the arrow that shows our location on the map and custom voices (we used an Australian accented one). Plugging it into your computer keeps it updated with the latest maps, as well-- as opposed to my car with a built in DVD-based navigation that would require me to spend $200 each year for new software. I can't speak for its longevity, but even if it lasted only a year - it was well worth it for the price.

I'm sure you've read the other reviews about the product so I'll only add a few things here.

The only difference I found between the new and refurbished product was the map. The refurbished product came was last year's map, a bit outdated. And the code for the 30 day free update had expired.
However, after a few minutes with tech support, I was able to get the free update.
This involved scanning my Amazon receipt and e-mailing directly while on the phone. The support people were very helpful and easy to understand.

Outside of that, one point I wanted to make clear about the Tom Tom One 3rd edition is the multiple waypoints. The 3rd Edition has the ability to enter 48 "favorite" destinations. The similar Tom Tom 130 only has 1 or 2. This is helpful when doing service calls or deliveries. Although it doesn't auto route for you. You'll need to manually input the next destination and manually delete each when you no longer need them.

I've used mine everyday at work since it arrived and it's worked nearly perfectly, bringing me right to the front door 98% of the time.

This thing gets you to your destination. Only problem is that it will use the longer route if it has two routes that are the same time. Spend your money on a GPS unit that has better routing software and doesnt feel like it is being funded by the fuel companies.
